Hobby


My Hobby



My hobby is dancing. These days, many people dance no matter what age they are. When you are dancing all you need are comfortable clothes, shoes and stole.

I have been dancing since I was 6 years old. The first dance I learned was traditional dance. The more I grow up, the better I am in dancing. I learned traditional dance with my coach once. But now, I learn new dance by myself or with my partner.

Each type of dance has its own move and rhythm. One has to feel the rhythm and learn the style of dance. I dance because it is the best way to be healthy and keep myself fit. Dance makes me feel relaxed and happy.

Dancing will always remain a part of my life. It is a kind of sports that every generation enjoys. Since childhood dancing is and has been my passion always. Dancing allows me to express my emotions.

Dancing involves technique, timing, eye and hand coordination, rhythm, emotion and personality. I am always keen to learn new steps of dancing and practice it whenever I get spare time out of my busy school schedule.

Dancing is hobby that can make money and new friends, because sometimes I was asked to perform in an event, and I became one of the coaches for a dance community in my region.

In global era, to learn new dance is easy more than before. But now, just a little people who want to learn it.  [250 words]

GANJEL REL BREAD




Ganjel rel bread is a typical bread of Semarang.  Although this bread come from Semarang, but it is rarely found. This bread also has another name that is gambang bread. Ganjel rel bread is less known than other bread because the texture is not soft and it is hard to eat, but according to nutritionists the texture is good for digestion. However, some bakers are modifying the texture, so that easy to consume.

The shape of ganjel rel bread is box, the color is brown with sesame seeds, and the flavor is cinnamon flavor. The texture of ganjel rel bread is ductile and solid, and smelled of chocolate and cinnamon. It’s sweet because it uses palm sugar. This bread is suitable for tea drink and breakfast.

This bread is one of the Dutch heritages. Until now the recipes has never changed, is still original from the Dutch era. The original name is “Gambang” bread because the shape is similar to gambang musical instrument, but the people of Semarang more familiar with “ganjel rel” name. in addition, this bread called “ganjel rel” becaue the shape of bread similar to bearing rail.

The ganjel rel bread is always be seizure of the people in Semarang during the celebration of dugderan. The ganjel rel bread is a symbol of no disturbance. Even the thousand of citizens are willing to jostle to get the ganjel rel bread. Because the philosophy when eating this bread is the implementation of fasting there is no obstacle so that the mind becomes clear and calm.

Pop Music


Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form in the United States and United Kingdom during in the middle of 1950s. The terms "popular music" and "pop music" are often used interchangeably, even though the former describes all music that is popular and includes many different styles. "Pop" and "rock" were roughly synonymous terms until the late 1960s, when they became increasingly differentiated from each other.

Although much of the music that appears on record charts is seen as pop music, the genre is distinguished from chart music. Pop music is electic, and often borrows elements from other styles such as urban, dance, rock, Latin and country. However, there are core elements that define pop music. Identifyng factors include generally short to medium-length songs written in a basic format (often the verse-chorus structure), as well as common use of repeated choruses, melodic tunes, and hooks.



The Definition of Pop Music

According to David Hatch and  Stephen Millward, pop music can be defined as “a body of music which is distinguishable from popular, jazz and folk musics”. Although pop music is often seen as song-oriented on chart music, not only pop music that included on chart music, but also from different genre musics such as classical, jazz, rock, and novelty song. Pop as a genre usually considered a genre that exists and develops separately. It’s aimed to young age and an alternative of rock and roll music.


History of  Pop Music

Pop music has been a profitable industry in the United States since the 19th century. In the late 1950s, pop/rock genre appeared after the waning of the rock and roll era. In the early stages influenced by the beat and rock and roll style (and sometimes doo-wop), but it's not too hard like rock and roll. Towards the end of the 1960s, the genre of pop/rock began to be affected by psychedelic and blue-eyed soul. In the 1970s, pop/rock grew more gentle, such as pop music performed by Burt Bacharach. popular pop/rock artist of the 1960s for example The Beach Boys, The Four Seasons, The Everly Brothers, The Association, The Rascals, The Righteous Brothers, The Walker Brothers, and Petula Clark. Composer Burt Bacharach, producer Phil Spector, and Brill Building songwriting team such as Barry / Greenwich and Goffin / King were among 1960s pop/rock figures.

HISTORY
